Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

My name is Angad Singh and I am based out of Singapore. Currently I am doing my undergrad in Business Managament at Singapore Management University. I am majoring in Marketing and Corporate Communication. I graduate in December 2007 and I intend to persue a career in advertising or branding.

In the summer of 2006 I did an 8 week internship with Rediffusion DY&R in New Delhi in the strategic planning department and I worked on accounts like PVR Cinemas and Xerox International. As part of the job scope I was required to conduct market researches, analayize results and then give recommendations to the clients. The recommendations made to PVR Cinemas were received very well by the PVR executives.

On 25th July 1984, I was born into a Sikh family in Dehradun, India. However, I never really practised the religion or even believed in it till 2002. It was only in December 2002 that I was doing seva at the local gurudawara and that is where this journery started off and I still have miles to go.

Initially I started this blog just to share photographs with my friends. However, with time I realized that I can make use of the blog to share what I learn with a global audience. Thus in August/September 2005 i started blogging with a purpose. This was around the same time I started to learn kirtan from Amardeep Singh Ji. While I learnt about kirtan and learnt how to do kirtan I realized that due to numerous reasons kirtan is not being done in the manner how it should be done. This inspired me to take to share with the sangat about kirtan and to learn kirtan myself. This is was resulted in me blogging about the various aspects of kirtan. In addition this also motivated me to learn the Dilruba which I am learning to play now.

During term time I am generally quite busy and the posts I write require some amount of reading and planning so I shall try to stick to 1 post a week.

If there is anything you want to contact me for please feel free to write in to me.

Angad Singh Veer Ji, I noticed you did not describe what the incident in 2002 was that inspired you to practice Sikhism in real terms. Please share if you can.
